Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out Sabbath Days. I’m glad you stopped by. I’m Katie and this is my little corner for making a place to sit down, be quiet and rest.
As a wife, mother, and many other things, I’ve found it is difficult to carve out time and space for rest, reflection and meditation on all that is good, true and beautiful. This blog is specifically a collection of thoughts, reflections and resources all pertaining to keeping the Sabbath. Exodus 20:8-9 reads:
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
Through the fall and early winter of 2016, God was really pressing on me to stop, slow down, say no. After some prayer and contemplation in Advent, I felt like “Sabbath” was just stuck to me. Couldn’t get it out of my mind or off my heart. So, in 2017, I established my resolution or goal for the year would be to rest on Sundays and “keep the Sabbath holy.” This blog is my space to hash out what that means and journal as I go. I’m hoping to learn, grow, and be stretched in this obedience. Who knows what God has in store!
